Fraud arrests in Hitchin |
||
|
Five males were arrested after a vulnerable victim was defrauded of £3,000 in Hitchin. The group attended a residential property in the Sunnyside area of the town offering roof repairs. They offered to fix a hole in a roof for £1000 then advised they would return the next day for further works costing a further £2000. Concerns were raised to the police who attended the following day. Last Tuesday (25 November) officers quickly located and stopped a vehicle linked to the offence. Items connected to the fraud were recovered. All payments were cancelled and the victim’s money recovered. All five suspects have been bailed with strict conditions not to enter Hitchin at any time while investigations continue. We’re committed to protecting our community and tackling fraud.
